Auriga Leader

Nippon Yusen, the Japan’s largest shipping company collaborated with Nippon Oil, produced Auriga Leader the first large ship with solar energy. The Auriga Leader equipped with 328 solar panel on board that able to create 40 kilowatts power. It able to generate 0.3% energy needed for engine-based devices also 7% electricity need for lighting.

It appears in 200 meters of long and over 60,000 tons of weights. It will be used for deliver Toyota cars to overseas markets which can carry 6,400 cars at the same time. To produced Auriga Leader, Nippon Yusen and Nippon Oil invested $1.68 million for the solar panel system.
